Image of the day: the suburbs of Lima

I took this image from the bus on the way to Cuzco leaving Lima. It was about twenty hours of travel that took a long time behind the bus windows. Specifically, it is the town called El Salvador; a set of shacks on the desert sand in the periphery of the Peruvian capital.

The suburbs of Lima are very depressing. Especially when one is told that most were filled after the townspeople will arrive in packs after the madness of the bright path in rural areas during the 1990s.

Even more depressing is finding infinite graffiti on the walls that were not painted by young people precisely, but by politicians with clear intentions.
