During our second day in Dublin we visited the whiskey distillery in Kilbeggan. This is a much more interesting visit than the Jameson distillery in the center of Dublin since in Kilbeggan the machines are still working and one can observe in detail the process of making Irish whiskey.

Kilbeggan distillery is the oldest in the world with authorization or license and has seen good and bad times go by during its 250 years of history. Undoubtedly, the walls in this place speak although they are still a little drunk with so much whiskey and it is hard to understand them.

The visit was very enjoyable. Although we already knew the manufacturing processes after visiting the Jameson distillery, in this case the experience was much more authentic with a guide whose purple skirts seemed to indicate that dealing with whiskey all day should not be very good for your health.

Visiting Kilbbegan alone is worth it. It is a beautiful and quiet town that has always been linked to the world of whiskey. It is located in a beautiful meadow of an intense green with a river that crosses the town in a harmonious way.
