Seventy years ago Sam sat at the piano of Rick's Café and began to sing one of the best known soundtracks in film history. The adorable look of the Norwegian Ilsa Lund -Ingrid Bergman- accompanies the notes humming the tune when a grumpy and cynical American named Rick Blaine -Humphrey Bogart- comes into action.

Today we will board an Air Arabia flight with destination Morocco from Barcelona and tomorrow we will set foot in the same cafe to celebrate the seventy anniversary of the premiere of the mythical movie "Casablanca".

I was once in Casablanca before but I barely had time to visit the city. I didn't really plan to even put my feet in it. I had a flight from Barcelona to Marrakech with a stopover in Casablanca. The flight was delayed and we lost the link. We had to sleep one night in the city and it was one of those magical and unexpected traveling moments.

Towels of a hammam drying in the sun

We met an American who took from his top hat a bottle of pacharan, a Catalan woman who was going to Togo to marry, who finally threw herself back, and we all had a night of madness and fun. Although we barely stepped on the area near the airport, the spirit of Casablanca already overwhelmed us.

Today I return to the city and we will stay at the Barceló Hotel. In addition to commemorating the mythical Michael Curtiz film, tourist attractions such as the Hassan II Mosque, the old city medina, the colorful of the souks, the Palace are also waiting for us Real, neighborhoods with a special charm and my favorite activity in Morocco: visit a neighborhood hamman, relax and finish the day in a terrace with a shisha and a good chai.

As always, on the way back, we will tell you the trip in detail.
