Iglesias is a good stop on the way when you cross the island from the southern part. The town of Iglesias retains a little of its interesting historical core, something difficult to find in Sardinia since many medieval hulls were destroyed.

The cathedral of Santa Chiara is located in the same square of the old town. It was built during the thirteenth century and since then the Catalan Gothic style and other architectural styles have been combined.

Also in the same square is the Palacio dell'Episcopio and the Town Hall that share already neoclassical styles.

Inside the old town is the church of San Francisco that dates from the fifteenth century and ended the sixteenth.

In one of the bakeries in Iglesias we tried one of the typical sweets of Sardinia. It's about the Cibbati. A bread stuffed with cheese and bathed with honey. A real snack or breakfast pump with which to lift your spirits.
