For the second time in two years, Ryanair has launched a purchase offer for Aer Lingus, the former Irish national airline.

Aer Lingus has asked its shareholders to remain awaiting a more detailed statement that they will announce as soon as possible. The Government controls 25% of the shares and employees 18% while the rest, approximately 27%, is in private hands and investment funds.

(Update: Aer Lingus has rejected the purchase offer)
