The accumulation of works of art in the Louvre causes that the paintings and sculptures of one of the most important museums in the world do not shine as they deserve.

With that premise, a couple of Japanese architects launched an interesting project that consisted of giving the works of art an empty environment, of a pristine target for works of art to really acquire the deserved value and the ornate architecture of the Louvre museum does not hinder sensory communication between the visitor and the final work.

From this premise the idea of Bring the overflowing art of the Louvre to the French of provinces and the first place where he embarked was in Lens.

The city of Lens, an area historically known for mining and far from French cultural circles, welcomed that new concept of art in the new Louvre-Lens that becomes a delegation of the great Parisian museum.

Following the premise of the two Japanese architects, the conception of space is about give more importance to the content than to the continent from the museum. The refined architecture of the new Louvre gives way to large white rooms without ornaments reinforcing the visual impact of their works, the only protagonists of the place.
