It is not necessary that I tell you the face that remained when I arrived in Irati and find me the refuge where I thought I would spend the night completely boarded up.

He was making the GR11, the famous long-distance road that crosses the Pyrenees in its entirety from Cape Híguer to Cape Creus. During that same day I had left the beautiful Navarre town of Orbaizeta and headed to Ochagavía. However, I did not intend to make so many kilometers during that day and had planned to stop along the way and sleep in the Irati jungle. According to the maps, an unsaved shelter was waiting for me.

As is evident, the guards would be fed up with unscrupulous and uncivilized people who are unclear about the concept of refuge. Probably the continuous bottles - unfortunately the place is next to a road - changed their minds to the good idea of providing a roof to the walker.

So with some anger and tired of the same story - on the mountain they always pay just for sinners - I hung my backpack on my back again and crossed Mount Abodi in the direction of Ochagavía.

If anyone knows if the Irati shelter is open again it would be interesting to tell us.
