Return to Lima and end of trip

It was time to return and I did it flying from Tarapoto to Lima. I had hurried the kilometers to the maximum and could not afford 26 hours of coach to return to Lima. Instead, $ 110 with Star Peru allowed me to convert those 26 hours into a simple journey time; something that says a lot about the roads of Peru and its complicated geography.

I arrived in just an hour and quickly headed outside the airport where cheap taxis are located. It was late and I had to make a good bargain until I got to Pueblo Libre (near the Catholic University) for 12 soles.

The next day I stayed with my Lima friend Juan Manuel and other friends of his from the center. When I left the hostel I asked in the first store which car I was taking to the center and I got on the big orange one (without number) that left me four blocks from San Martín for a sun and a half.

We walk together through San Martín, the Plaza de Armas, Bolivar and the shopping streets that link the popular squares of the city.

We were at the end of December and the center was packed with the craziness of Christmas and its compulsive shopping. Yes, in Peru the consumer fever also arrived. So we chose to move away to Pueblo Libre where we had the last beers saying goodbye to Peru and its people with a see you soon.
